Zinon Papakonstantinou awarded Mercator Fellowship

Zinon Papakonstantinou, Associate Professor of Classics, has won a Mercator Fellowship from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. The Mercator Fellowship entails a visiting professorship linked to a Germany-based research project. In his case, the three-year project, in collaboration with Professor Christian Mann at the University of Mannheim, is entitled: “Prohedrie, Sitesis und Ateleia. Ehrungen und Leistungen der Poleis für siegreiche Athleten” (Proedriasitesis and ateleia. Honors and Accolades of poleis for Victorious Athletes)." Dr. Papakonstantinou will spend time working both in Mannheim and in Chicago for the fellowship period.
