Young Kim op-ed on myth and the “model minority” published in The Hill
The Hill published an op-ed Young Richard Kim, associate professor and head of Classics and Mediterranean Studies and associate professor of History, in which he reflects on growing up in an immigrant family, the model minority myth, and use of the myth as a “powerful rhetorical weapon in the panoply of systemic racism.” The piece was written as part of Public Voices Fellowship for The OpEd Project for which Prof. Kim was recently selected.
